On 17th August 2021, Microsoft will end support for Internet Explorer 11. This means that it will no longer be supported by Microsoft services like Office 365, OneDrive, Outlook and more. Support for the Microsoft Teams web app in Internet Explorer 11 will come to a close at the end of this month (November 2020).

First seen in 2013, Internet Explorer was developed for an online world that was less sophisticated than it is today. Since then, new, open standard and cutting-edge browsers have enabled users to interact with better, more secure and leading-edge experiences. Internet Explorer 11 was made for a much less demanding environment and struggles to keep up with current and future web technologies. Microsoft’s modern browser, Edge, is capable of handling all of this and more.

Changing habits formed over 8 years, like clicking the recognisable icon, using a familiar interface and feeling comfortable in a well-worn workflow will be hard. But, in the end, it’ll be worth it. Making that workflow more secure, more responsive and more immersive. It’s worth getting ahead of the game by changing to Microsoft Edge today before the end of support deadline.
